Post Time:Dec 01,2009Classify:Company NewsView:452

A Pilkington Automotive Poland competition for the best PNCA project has awarded prizes to four of the plant's 30 PNCA teams.
The competition covered three categories - the most active team, the most active area and the most valuable solution. But after assessing a total of 24 projects, the competition committee awarded the prizes for the first two categories to a single team from the Lehr 2 final line. Led by Tomasz Kloczkowski, the team had developed six effective solutions to very different tasks.
The award for the most valuable solution was shared by three teams:
The Lehr 2 team, led by Rafal Sierant, saved nearly Euros 20,000 on packaging costs; The extrusion line team, led by Jakub Kicinski, improved yield by reducing breakage levels and The toughening line team, led by Darek Koczwara, improved up-time by reducing changeover times.
"Continuous improvement in all aspects of our operations is more vital today than ever because it helps us to be more competitive," said general manager Ryszard Jania. "I want to encourage everyone to continue to work together to initiate new projects and develop new solutions."
