Overview
Insulated glass units are constructed with two or more plies of glass, separated by a desiccant-filled spacer and sealed with an organic sealant. The desiccant absorbs the insulating glass unit's internal moisture.
There is commonly float, coated, tempered or low-e laminated glass.
Advantages
Heat and sound insulation because of cavity design.
Visible light transmission. Supplying adequate indoor natural daylight.
High sealability.
Reduce radiation.
Application
Insulating glass is traditionally used at office buildings, Hospitals, Hotels, Houses and those buildings where large amount of heating or cooling is required. Those places where humidity and temperature needs to be controlled, Insulated glass is best suited for them.
Insulating glass is also used in airports control towers, train windows etc.
