Michigan Glass Project Main Event 2013 features music, glass artists to benefit Belle Isle Aquarium

DETROIT- The “Michigan Glass Project Main Event 2013” is continuing this weekend with live music, demonstrations and a host of other activities to benefit the Belle Isle Aquarium.

 

The three days of events, which officially started Friday, feature music, food, and glassblowers collaborating on multiple artistic creations from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the RIC Building 6, 1600 Clay St. in Detroit.

 

A weekend pass for the event is $20. A day pass is $15. Some events, such as the Artist Direct After Party at Jam Handy, 2900 Grand Blvd., Saturday in Detroit are not included in the weekend pass.

 

The events, according to officials, include about 75 artists and a dozen musical guests.

 

Proceeds from 2012 and 2013 events, the sale of the installations, along with silent auction art work and monetary donations will go to the Belle Isle Aquarium.
