Flat glass prices saw a 2.2-percent increase from April to May, according to the latest Producer Price Index Report from the U.S. Labor Department.
The index was listed at 201.2 for May, compared with 199.8 for April.

The PPI is a family of indices that measure the average change over time in the prices received by domestic producers of goods and services, according to the BLS.
“PPIs measure price change from the perspective of the seller,” writes BLS in its description of the PPI.
Meanwhile, the latest import report from the BLS showed a decrease of 0.2 percent for import prices for glass and glassware from April to May, according to the May Import and Export Price Indices. The export price remained stable with no changes from April to May.
Glass and glassware includes float glass, safety glass, lab glass and a range of other glass products, according to information from the International Price Program office in Washington, D.C.
