The construction segment is driving growth and innovation for Saint-Gobain Glass India, according to B. Santhanam, managing director. While the automotive glass sector is seeing a slowdown, growth in the construction segment offers opportunities for development and innovation at the company, Santhanam said in an Oct. 14 report from The Hindu Business Line.
One development at the company has been a shift to dollar pricing—pricing glass according to the value of the dollar, versus the rupee, according to the article.
In a related Oct. 15 article, also from The Hindu Business Line, Santhanam added that the company is focused on glass innovations for its architectural glass business. Looking at decorative glass, the company is promoting its product capabilities as an alternative to more expensive stone materials, he said in the article.
