The Thunder Bay Centennial Conservatory in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, closed for the second time in less than two years due to falling glass, according to an Oct. 11 CBC News report. In a news release, city officials reported that shards of glass fell into the safety netting in a tropical exhibit viewing area. A roof vent malfunction caused the glass to fall, according to Darrell Matson, general manager of infrastucture and operations for the conservatory. No one was hurt in the incident, according to the report "We've contacted the contractor that is responsible under a city contract for repairing or replacing glass panels," said Matson, in the report. He said the contractor expects to have the issue resolved in a few days.
