A+W Software, the supplier of software for glass and windows, and Smart-Builder, the supplier of glass design software, have formed a strategic partnership. As part of the agreement, both A+W and Smart-Builder have developed a certified interface that allows for seamless integration from the Smart-Builder configurators into the A+W ERP and production systems, allowing customers to design frameless glass structures such as showers, shopfronts, balustrades and splashbacks.
Customers can then create a quotation and order based on the detailed design, and real purchasing and manufacturing costs, quoting a price and delivery date based on available capacity, logistics and manufacturing constraints, according to an A+W release. The order is then released for production.
The combined solution has been installed at the glass division of the Saint Gobain Group, according to the release.
“I am happy to see two global leaders in the software industry cooperating to supply us with a global solution for this type of business," said Christian Otto, business applications manager, Saint Gobain Group, in the release. "This allows us to deploy a state-of-the-art solution of our well established backbone, the A+W ERP solution, with a leading configurator for our frameless glass structures.”
