800 North Glebe Road in Arlington, Va., has been named the "2012 Speculative Office Building of the Year" by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. Honored in the ‘4 Stories and Above’ category, the building features more than 78,000 square feet of Viracon glass.
Designed by Cooper Carry, the 10-story, mixed-use office building has 316,000 square feet of Class A space and features a sweeping 10-story curtain-wall fa?ade. For the fa?ade and other parts of the building, Viracon supplied its VRE15-59 and VRE1-46 vision and spandrel glass.
800 North Glebe Road earned LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for utilizing a variety of sustainable materials and meeting high-performance criteria, such as maximized daylighting and views, according to a Viracon release.
“From the beginning, we knew that 800 North Glebe would be special,” said Kevin Anez, director of marketing for Viracon, in the release. “It is an honor to see so much of our glass on such an innovative, responsibly-designed building.”
The project team for 800 North Glebe includes owner and developer The JBG Companies, architect Cooper Carry, and general contractor Clark Construction Group, LLC.
