RavenBrickofficials announced the company has received a patent for its RavenSkin smart wall technology in Australia. In late 2011, RavenBrick was issued patents in the United States, Canada and China for the product.
"RavenSkin’s effect on a building is similar to a hybrid engine for a car; it reduces energy consumption, stores excess energy and releases energy when it is required. We are thrilled about the potential this sustainable technology brings,” said Alex Burney, CEO, in a June 4 release.
RavenBrick has developed a prototype of RavenSkin using its patented RavenWindow thermochromic filter, phase change material and a triple-pane insulating glass unit. The company is now actively seeking a joint venture partner to commercialize RavenSkin.
“We can provide the technology, but we need a partner to help us bridge the gap between prototype and commercial product,” Burney said, in the release.
