Quanex Building Products Corp.’s site in Kent, Wash., hosted Congressman Adam Smith, May 21, as part of its efforts to engage with lawmakers and support policies that are in the best interest of the window and door industry, according to Quanex officials. During his visit to the Kent facility, Congressman Smith spent time with Ric Jackson, Quanex’s director of external affairs, learning about the company’s role in the window and door industry and its advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C., according to a May 22 Quanex release.
“This is a critical time for the window and door industry to raise its collective voice in Washington, D.C., with a number of proposed tax incentive programs up for discussion,” Jackson said. “As a company, we have ramped up our efforts and are grateful to Congressman Smith for visiting our Kent facility, learning more about our business and interacting with our employees who are impacted by the decisions made in Congress.”
