Officials from Trojan Powder Coating Co., Bay Shore, N.Y., announced the opening of Trojan Florida Powder Coating Co., a 97,000 square foot facility, in Sarasota, Fla., according to a Sept. 9 release. Trojan provides environmentally safe powder coating services to other manufacturers of aluminum and steel products. Trojan coats architectural aluminum for windows, doors and skylights, as well as lighting, architectural railings, fencing, retail displays, electrical and many other products. Trojan also powder coats with a process that emulates wood grain and marble-like finishes, according to the release.
The company decided to open a Florida location in order to serve several major clients in the area, including PGT Industries Inc. in Venice, CGI Windows and Doors in Doral, LaFinestra in Miami, and WinDoor Inc. in Orlando.
"We know from our existing customers and suppliers in the Southeast and Florida that there is a tremendous need for a certified powder coater in this region," Carl Troiano, president of Trojan, said in the release. "Sarasota is attractive because of its central location to the entire state and proximity to other southeastern states. By maintaining our facility in New York, we will be able to cover the entire eastern United States and reduce shipping time and costs."
