On Aug. 11, officials from Glaston released the company's Interim Report for the first and second quarters. During the first half of the year, the company saw operating profits of $715,700 (EUR 0.5 million), compared to a loss of $6.4 million (EUR 4.5 million) in operating profits for the same period last year. Its orders received in the first half of 2011 totaled $108 million (EUR 75.5 million).
"The first half of the year proceeded according to plan. Our operating profit for the first six months was positive," President & CEO Arto Mets?nen said in the report. "This is indicative of the effectiveness of our restructuring measures, because we have not received much assistance from the market for our improved financial performance.
