Patriot Glass & Mirror Ltd., a commercial glass company in Schenectady, N.Y., has filed for bankruptcy but remains open, according to a July 29 report in The Business Review.
According to the article, revenue for the company dropped in the aftermath of the recession, as construction slowed down. Revenue in 2009 was $10 million, but declined to $7.4 million in 2010, according to court papers.
"The single motivation for filing was to make sure the judgment didn't interrupt the operation of the business," said Richard Weiskopf, an attorney with Patriot representative O'Connell & Aronowitz PC, in The Business Review article.
