Custom Components Cos., Tampa, Fla.,supplied the railings for the Granite & Gables Park Seventeen office tower in Dallas, recently named the "Best of Texas 2010" by Texas Construction magazine, in the Best OfficeProject category. A 19-story office tower joins with a 26-story residential tower to form Park Seventeen in the Uptown Dallas area. The project occupies more than one million square feet and is valued at more than $100 million, according to a Dec. 27 release.
The structure was a joint venture between Granite Properties and Gables Residential.The architect was Good Fulton & Farrell, Dallas, and the general contractor was Austin Commercial, Dallas. The office tower has received LEED pre-certification at the gold level from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Custom Components Co. supplied and installed more than 9,600 linear feet of its Series 500 and Series 650 glass balcony railing, perimeter railing and 42-inch and 72-inch privacy dividers for the project. This is one of several projects where the company collaborated with Austin Commercial including, the Omni Hotel, Fort Worth, Texas; W Hotel, Austin, Texas;and the Irving Convention Center, Irving, Texas. It also received a contract award from Austin for custom designed and fabricated railing for the Museum Tower in Dallas.
