New glass company forms

Alan W.Hunter, president, InternationalGlass Specialists, Kingsport, Tenn., announced the formation and start-up of the new company in a letter to industry members. Below is an excerpt:

"As the name implies, our company is comprised of a number of glass industry professionals with many years experience in all aspects of flat glass production and distribution.

"Our company will be importing high quality flat glass products from manufacturers around the world for distribution out of our warehouse in Charleston, S.C..

Initially our inventory will include Polished Wire, Acid Etched and Patterned glass, but we expect to add to this list as we move forward. The first containers are expected to arrive in our warehouse by mid-June, at which point we will be ready to start shipping glass to our customers.

"We will be appointing a number of regional sales representatives who are experienced in these particular products, and they will be in touch with you in due course."
