Seitovirta resigns from Glaston; board names new president and CEO

Glaston Corp.'s board of directors has appointed Arto Metsänen as the new president and CEO of the company. He willstart athis new position Sept.1, 2009, according to an Aug. 5 release.

Metsänen's predecessor, Mika Seitovirta, and Glaston Corp.agreed that he'd resign Aug. 5.

Chief Financial Officer Kimmo Lautanen takes CEO responsibilities for the company Aug.6-31.

Lautanen joined Glaston as CFO in 2007. Before that he worked at Oy Hartwall Ab, 2003-07, as CFO, and at Ciba Speciality Chemicals,1996-2003, as CFO.

Before joining Glaston, Metsänen worked as president and CEO at CPS Colour Group, 2005-09. Before that, he worked as president of Sandvik Tamrock Oy, 2003-05; as president of Sandvik Mining and Construction's U.S. and Mexico region, 2002-03; and as president, Market Area Southern Europe and the Middle East, 1998-2002. He joined Sandvik Tamrock in 1982.

”We highly appreciate Arto Metsänen's extensive experience in the international engineering industry and equipment sales, which provides us with a valuable asset in today's challenging operating environment," said Andreas Tallberg, chairman of the board of directors, in the release."His predecessor, Mika Seitovirta, held a key role in the development of today's Glaston, which focuses on glass processing technology, as well as in the implementation of the restructuring program."

Metsänen will attend the company's interim report information event for Q2 Aug.11 at Glaston's office on Mikonkatu 9, Helsinki.
