Delray to install hurricane-resistant windows at three sites

The Old School Square gymnasium, the Crest Theater and Cornell Museum in Delray Beach [Fla.] will be getting about 200 new hurricane-resistant windows. Work is scheduled to start in September or October and should take the contractor about six weeks, said Randal Krejcarek, city engineer.The city received $524,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the city will pay $13,250 for extra design work, Krejcarek said.The hurricane-resistant windows are much needed, as Old School Square experienced damage during the hurricanes of 2004 and 2005, said director Joe Gillie, according to a July 26 Sun Sentinel report.
