Global glass manufacturer Guardian Industries,Auburn Hills, Mich.,presented the newest additions to its line of solar glass products at the 2009 CSP, CPV and Thin Film Technology Summit MENA in Abu Dhabi, UAE, June 2-3. Guardian will demonstrate its EcoGuard Solar Boost laminated product for concentrating solar power, which provides best-in-class solar reflectivity, concentrating efficiency and durability, according to a June 3 release.
Guardian has a long-standing presence in the Middle East market that dates back almost three decades, including its role as the first company engaged in glass making in the Middle East and Northern Africa region nearly 12 years ago. Guardian has glass manufacturing plants in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Ras al Khaimah, UAE. It is continuing its support of the region with a strong commitment to float glass as well as coated glass products. Guardian operates the region’s most technologically advanced glass coater at its Ras al Khaimah facility.

Guardian is using solar products like CSP to expand our presence in the region and diversify our business offering of energy-saving and generating products.”

In key regions around the world, Guardian manufactures EcoGuard Float, a low-iron float glass designed to maximize solar energy transmission in a variety of applications, EcoGuard Solar Boost monolithic parabolic mirror and EcoGuard Pattern, a low-iron pattern glass designed to maximize solar energy transmission and enhance photovoltaic module performance in a variety of applications. It also manufactures advanced architectural glass called Guardian SunGuard, as well as glass for residential, electronic and interior applications.
