Jon Johnson elected GANA secretary

The Glass Association of North America, Topeka, Kan., elected Jon Johnson, general manager, Arch Deco Glass, Columbus, Ohio, as its new secretary, according to a Jan. 20 release. Elected by the GANA Laminating Division, Johnson will represent the division on the GANA board of directors as an officer, and is scheduled to become GANA president in 2012. He takes over from Scott Surma, DecoTherm, Amherst, N.Y., who now becomes the GANA treasurer.

Johnson began his career in the glass and glazing industry on the line at a Ford Motor Co. float glass facility in 1979. After working in the field with architects and glazing contractors at Apogee Enterprises, Minneapolis, he was hired by Arch Aluminum & Glass Co.in 2002 to manage its facilities in Waukesha, Wis. In 2009, he became the general manager at Arch Deco Glass, according to the release.

Johnson also chairs the Marketing Committee of the Protective Glazing Council International, Topeka, Kan., according to the release.
