Creighton workers reject PPG contract extension

Union workers at PPG Industries' Creighton auto glass plant on Saturday rejected a 3-year contract extension from the company, according to a Sept. 28 Valley News Dispatch report. In an e-mailed statement, the company said it was "disappointed" with the vote. PPG is negotiating to sell the plant, located in East Deer, to the private equity firm Kohlberg & Co. LLC., of Mt. Kisco, N.Y., as part of a $330 million deal that would include nine North American manufacturing and fabrication plants, nine satellite parts assembly plants and the Lynx Services claims-management service centers in Fort Myers, Fla., and Paducah, Ky.
