Construction employment was down in 27 states between June 2010 and June 2011, and down in 23 states and the District of Columbia between May and June, according to a July 27 article from the Associated General Contractors. Ken Simonson, the AGC's chief economist, said the construction industry is "stuck in a multi-year slump."
