Gerresheimer stock will be included in the MDAX Index on December 22, 2008. This was decided by the Management Board of the German Stock Exchange late on Wednesday evening in the course of the review of the selection indices.
Gerresheimer AG has been listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since June 11, 2007 after one of the largest IPOs of the year, with a total issue volume in excess of €900 million. Already, on September 6, 2007, Gerresheimer was included in the SDAX Index ahead of the normal scheduling process.
“Inclusion in the index confirms Gerresheimer’s outstanding development. As an MDAX constituent our company is now even more attractive for national as well as international investors and attracts the attention of the capital market to an increased degree”, says Dr. Axel Herberg, CEO of Gerresheimer AG.
In the first nine months of the financial year 2008 (December 2007 to August 2008), sales increased markedly by 12.3 % to €783.4m (prior year period: €697.4m). Operating results (adjusted EBITDA) to the end of August actually improved by 18.1 % to €146.9m (€124.4m).
