The Glass Problems conference is underway in Toledo, OH, USA, with the first day of papers completed.
Approximately 500 people are expected to attend this year - a figure up on previous years.
The event is taking place in Toledo - nicknamed the Glass City due to its rich history of glass manufacturing.
The event includes two full days of conference, short courses, as well as a day-long GlassTrend symposium.
Subjects under discussion on day one were focused on the topics of Projects, Refractories and Machine Learning.
A special presentation from the US Department of Energy's Nate Roberts was focused on Energy and the Glass Industry.
Overall, delegates over the two days will hear 22 presentations focused on glass manufacturing processes.
An accompanying table top exhibition features 55 companies which supply technology to the glass industry.
The event continues until Thursday evening.
