A much broader array of decorative glass was among the products displayed by AGC and Interpane at the glasstec trade fair in Düsseldorf, where they occupied a joint stand for the first time. In July, the two companies entered into an alliance which has allowed them to capitalise on their complementary product ranges. The glasstec stand itself was a showcase for this diversity, featuring digital printing on large-format glass elements and spandrels (ipadecor), conference rooms using sophisticated matt-finish laminated glass (Matelux Privablue), Lacobel Yellow Rich glass surfaces with design sandblasting, an all-glass structure made of ipachrome design glass with filigree chrome-based partial coating, and counters made from temperable crisp white Lacobel T.

As well as being extensively used in the structure of the stand, decorative glass also had its own dedicated area featuring examples of ceramic digital prints, acid-etched and painted Lacobel and Matelac colour glass, antislip laser-engraving, sandblasting, transparent and opaque photo laminating, laminated glass solutions (safety and design), switchable glass and much more. The design area furthermore included plenty of product samples to allow the many visitors to get hands-on with the different glass products.

NEW: AGC and Interpane previewed the new Oltreluce collection created by renowned Italian designer Michele de Lucchi. Oltreluce patterned glass delicately filters variations of light while boldly displaying its contemporary look, providing a medium for the surrounding environment and a surface with extraordinary aesthetic qualities. The collection comprises three contemporary patterns: Waves, Circles and Space, each available in “Clear”, “Clearvision” and “Silver” variants.

Also: Lacobel and Matelac painted glass reached A classification in a recent test of volatile organic compound (VOC) emission levels. This is an excellent result and fully in keeping with the “green products for green buildings” ethos. When backed with a safe foil, the products reach A+, as do the Mirox 3G and Mirox MNGE mirror glass ranges. The classification confirms that these glass products emit very low levels of VOCs in indoor areas.
