Taishan Fiberglass Inc. Saved 60 Thousand Tons Coals Through Pure Oxygen For Combustion

On June 19, from Taishan Fiberglass Inc., the reporter knew that furnaces energy consumption has been reduced by 53%, equivalent to 60 thousand tons coals in 2008, after the company adopted the technology of pure oxygen for combustion.

Li Hongjun, the Vice-Minister of Production Planning Department, said that at first the company used heavy oil as fuel. But the result was not only high cost, but also certain air pollution due to the waste gas including sulfur. From the perspective of environmental protection and energy saving, the company chose liquefied petroleum gas later, which improved heating value and protected the environment.

Li also said, in 2006, Taishan Fiberglass Inc. aimed at the world's leading energy saving technology, invested 120 million Yuan to establish a project of pure oxygen for combustion. Pure oxygen for combustion is a new technology in the area of industry combustion. This technology can improve the burning temperature rapidly and let the burning material be fully burned in a short time. And it also has following advantages: high temperature, less pollution, saving fuel and so on.

On May 4, 2006, all production lines in Taishan Fiberglass Inc. changed air for combustion into pure oxygen for combustion. Taishan Fiberglass Inc. is the first company owning so many Oxygen furnaces in global glass fiber industry.
